My name is Nace DeSanders. I’m a semi-nomadic film industry professional (Writer, Director, Producer) originally from New York, USA and currently living between Madrid, Spain, and New York, USA.

As an afro-surrealist, feminist horror filmmaker, I have a very specific audience (I hope that’s you!).

After graduating from Meiji University in Tokyo, Japan, I moved to New York to write and direct my first short films. Then I moved to Cape Town, South Africa to write and direct my biggest short film to date, Hello Sickness. Most recently, I’ve moved to Madrid, Spain to develop my first feature film project, Dance of the Demon.

Worm

A feature film project in development about the absurd individual lives we all live.

Dance of the Demon

A feature film project currently looking for funding and for collaborators about a woman with endometriosis who learns to dance her pain away in a pact with a demon.

Hello Sickness

An insane surrealist exploration of sickness as a coping mechanism, Hello Sickness is currently in post-production.

I believe in cultivating my own experiences as if life were a performance art piece. All my stories are expressionistic tales drawn from lived emotions.

My favorite prop is the human body.
